The button used for reviving your buddies and getting into a car are the same so you'll probably end up getting into a car when you meant to rescue your friend. There are also tons of customizations that you can perform on your cars, though they're not as intensive as the character creation options. You can pull off long power slides and different vehicles behave differently.
